Peyto Lake Elopement - Amy & Jacob — Langley Wedding Photographer

Amy is a destination elopement photographer herself (photographers make the best clients) so naturally she had her eye on somewhere epic for her own wedding. She lives in Florida with her now husband Jacob and their kids and they came from Florida to say their vows in the Rocky Mountains, overlooking Peyto Lake! How awesome is that. I’ve never been to Florida but I love the idea of the contrast between their warm beachy climate to the dramatic winter landscape we had for this end of October ceremony.
To reach this viewpoint we drove an hour past Banff on the Icefields Parkway then it was an easy 15 minute hike to the second lookout (way better than the first one which is closer to the parking lot). There was fresh snow falling and somehow also blue sky at the same time. Magical, I know. After vows were exchanged way high above the crystal water we drove to a second location for portraits at Bow Lake.
I loved their very American sounding accents and they laughed whenever I said ‘Eh”.
