Vancouver Wedding Photographer - Brittany & Kyle at The Hart House

Brittany and Kyle’s wedding was the perfect mix between a killer party (scroll to the end to see a crowd-surfing groom) and still incredibly sweet and heartfelt. This vintage-romantic inspired day had beautiful soft blush tones for the girls, sharp navy suits for the guys and wispy bohemian flowers. Their ceremony took place on the lawn of The Hart House in Burnaby which overlooks Deer Lake Park, and the reception was in the venue’s perfect open air marquee tent.

We created a Vanity Inspired shot for the Bridal Party (I really love doing these) that won runner up for best group photo at the BC Wedding awards that year! I wrote a little more at the end of this post about how to create these!

Interested in creating a ‘Vanity Fair’ inspired bridal party photo? I absolutely love doing these. I’ve done them with the ‘family formals’ too. Key things to do are #1. Let your photographer know in advance to your wedding day and #2. pre plan some furniture or interesting pieces that can be used for posing. It doesn’t have to be just chairs and couches. A ladder, boxes or a stool are all ideas that would work too! The hardest part…? Keeping the group from smiling and laughing and nailing that ‘blue steel’ glare ;)
